Grandparents and More

My grandparents from Vermont stopped in to see us on Wednesday and spent the night here.
We had such a nice visit!
Now that Josh is here, they figure they can see two of us in a visit and so they try to stay a little longer in our area of Ohio.
While we were eating supper, I stood up and noticed this thing silently staring into the dining room window.

Apparently I'm more timid than I always thought and I dove behind Blake's chair. The culprits, of course, didn't head directly home, so we invited them in and returned evil for good. I gave them ice cream.
The name on the shirt kinda gives away the fact the our dear employees really love to terrify me! (I hear they went specially to Walmart just to buy that freaky thing!)

"Maui Sunset" Paint Chips

Currently, my dining room is my favorite room in the house. That's because I painted it the coziest color I could find.
Six or eight years ago a friend had Dad paint their dining room a pinky-orange color. Maybe salmon? That's when I fell in love with the color and could not wait to have a dining room of my own to paint.
(I decided to go just a tad more bold than yours though Laura!)
The whole place seems seems so cozy- two less bland and austere off-white walls to look at in our house!
I love the orange.
Most people love the orange.
"Most" with my husband excluded, but it's growing on him.
He needed color in his world. That's why he got me. :)

Visitors

Micah and Lanna came to see us!
Yes, I love my niece. :) Her personality is fantastic!
Hanging out with Uncle Josh
Did I mention that she is my favorite niece?! :)

Holly, Lanna, and I went to my town's yard sale day. It was an awesome reminder for Holly and I of how much time babies take. Every other yard sale they need something! It's ok though. We loved getting to hang out together!
Everyone likes babies!
::Aud and Marvin::
I'm so glad they got to come for a visit, even if it was only for three days!

THE MOVE: On The Old Shop Side

Moving is Tedious, Time-consuming, and Tiring!

Scratch that. It's just plain exhausting!

We had SO much help!!!

Three Saturdays in a row some of the same people showed up to help us move all our junk.
I even had people who washed my dishes when they were too overwhelmed to know what else to do.
Thanks guys :)

It was a horribly dirty job. I'm pretty sure all my work shirts are completely ruined from that move.

There were only a couple small mishaps:
The biggest being the barrel of anti freeze which I said I always haul un-strapped.
Unfortunately we learned that it should have been strapped. And fortunately for Elijah he just happened to not be wearing his seat belt and was able to jump forward quickly!

Did I mention that this whole move thing was overwhelming? Sometimes we didn't know where to start so sometimes we just didn't.

Instead:
 Took Naps
Hot rodding with a Steiner.

Imagined riding the jet ski.
"How do you eat a pringle?!"
Photo Shoots
 More naps

 Sat and thought.
 Or leaned and thought.
Signed our names on the white board.
Inspired each other to keep going.
 Hard at work again

Dismantling the lifts
 Loading them.
Sometimes skid steers need a bit more weight to balance things out. :)
Hauling them

Load after load rolled out of that place. Our landlord was seriously in shock over how much stuff we had there!
Actually we were too, I think.
We never counted exactly but there were well over thirty trailer loads hauled out. Yeah, there's a reason why I'm still sorting and organizing all that stuff here. There's a lot. :(

Seriously we could never have moved both our house and the shop in 2 1/2 weeks if we hadn't had so much help!
Kaylee, Ben, and Elijah were out here for the week so I put them to work. I think they think I'm something similar to a slave driver now! What are big sisters for, right?! :)

Many many loads later, Blake and I went back and pressure washed the place and cleaned out the last little bits of stuff.
As we left the driveway for the last time, I wondered if maybe I should cry just a little. So I just did inside because I really am excited about life at our new place! All the late nights of working, and the Friday night unplanned pizza parties and the organizing of that jam packed building and the many other things that happened there over the past four years can be really awesome, happy memories. And I'm looking forward to making lots of new ones with our new place!
