I need help.

They're dry and chapped. The stuff is a must.

Yes, I need chapstick.

I've tried lots of Burt's Bees and my favorite is the pomegranate one.

It works. I like the flavor. It doesn't require lots of reapplying. It doesn't make my eyes water like Carmex.

I've tried peppermint ones and plain ones and various other flavors, but they all result in this unwanted result.

Only one kiss.

Every time I apply it, I get one kiss. It always takes about 20 seconds and then he puckers up his face and says "Ew! It looked so nice! That was disgusting!"

I need a chap stick we both like.
I would like more than one kiss a day.

Any one else have this problem?

Excited for ESV

I originally came up with my last post because I got a new bible and was so excited about it! By the time I actually sat down to write out what was on my mind, it was cluttered enough that I forgot momentarily about said bible.

So now it gets a post all it's own. :)

For several months I've been really, really wanting an ESV bible. I knew that I wanted to get a version in addition to my KJV, which I know and trust, mostly because of the sections I've memorized. Every time I look up a verse online, I find myself reading the ESV one and typically I really love it. It's easy to read yet still very similar to what I've been used to. And some things, like verb tenses, just seem more clear.

James 1:17
(KJV) "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

(ESV) " Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change."

John 3:17
(KJV) "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

(ESV)  "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."

I'm thankful for variety from old english. :)

Feeling:

Desperate to finish  my office remodeling this week.

Detesting dry-walling.

Eager to put everything back to normal and clean up the ridiculous amounts of dust on everything.

Honored that my husband took me on a date on Saturday night!

Dreaming that one of those old Chevy trucks at the car show (that we toured while on our date) could be my very own personal vehicle: restored, of course, with a cummins under the hood.

[Still] Anticipating  spring.

Remembering that with spring comes mud.

Being thankful for no mud. :)

Thinking about the "oops" gallon of paint that would be so perfect for a little girl's room: pale pink/creamy orange.*Sigh*

Listening to I See Grace.

Wishing I could see my 7-month old niece.

Looking forward to the ladies bible study tomorrow night on John 3.

Smirking because my husband got a smart phone and I still have my old flip phone.

Happy now that it's not me who has one of those complicated things on which to call and text.

Learning to give grace- or trying to learn, would be a better way to word that!

Wishing my husband's taste buds were just the same as mine.

Planning my week of food out, only to come up with food that either only Blake or only myself enjoys.

Loving my linoleum.

Scheming on how to continue upgrading my kitchen without my husband noticing.

Amused that some descendant of a former owner of our property finds the hugely overgrown shrubs here to wonderfully valuable.

Hoping they are valuable enough to him that he wishes to actually buy some!

Linoleum

It even matches my counter tops; I didn't purposely choose it for that because I thought that nothing could match them!

It's like happiness lying all over that floor!

Just in Case You Wondered...

We are doing quite well.
We are just still very much that cute boring couple who fix trucks for a living.

Fun Fact: In 2013 we worked on a total of 692 vehicles. By the first week of February this year, we had already worked on 91. How's that for an increase in productivity?

-------------------

We are getting linoleum installed in the kitchen this week!

Fun Fact: Spilling food stuffs -like the pan with ham drippings - on the carpeted kitchen floor is really, really gross.
--------------------

Spring is a mere 35 days away. Official spring, that is. Is everyone as hopeful as me that we will start feeling spring much sooner?

Fun fact: I don't mind snow, but cold is miserable.

------------------

I have heat in my office now! I spent the first couple months of winter sitting huddled next to a small electric heater; now I can dress with normal amounts of layers. :)
The gas lines were a bit confusing here and some were open so we didn't want to get the gas turned on right away. Any other form of heat was complicated or expensive.
One day my Napa Rep decided that he felt bad for me and brought a small heater with a fan. The next day Drew, who has been doing some awesome remodeling jobs for us, realized how cold I was so he brought over a kerosene heater. The following day he located a gas heater on Craigslist and spent an afternoon tracing gas lines and plugging everything unneeded. Then he mounted this awesome heater on the wall. The next day Jeff (more about Jeff another day!) marched into the office and set down a big old space heater and said "There. Now you'll be warm!"

Fun Fact: I feel loved!

-----------------------

Speaking of my office, I decided to cheer it up. When you spend 50 or 60 hours of your week in one place, it sure is lovely to have it lovely. Drew installed all these nice lights for me which shed some light on the fact that the ceiling needed some help. First I scraped it (the drippy parts of the stucco ceiling-or whatever you call that stuff!), then I started painting.

This place was built 35 years ago and the ceiling had never been painted; only the original mud splatter was installed. So five gallons of paint later, it should be pretty nice!

Fun fact: My husband always rolls his eyes when I start projects like these. He says I roll my eyes when he starts a truck project (Can you imagine?!), so I guess that makes us even. We both agree that when the other finishes their project, it is pretty nice.

---------------------

And speaking of his projects, I think he is going to have to get another truck going for us sometime soon because a friend is planning to buy our Chevy.

Fun Fact: We've owned this one truck for 8 or 9 months!

----------------------

More of my favorite guy's projects include getting garage doors installed in the shop. There was one 12' door on the far end, but everything had to come through that one door. It was finally time, so we got three more 12' ones installed.

As you can see there is still a bunch of cleanup left to be done and the weatherstripping still needs to be installed, as I understand. They are wonderful though!

Fun Fact: I never realized that garage doors came in sections. Duh, I'm pretty sure that I never thought about that one! :)

----------------------

We gave away this free TV this week. When the lady took it, she laughed and said that actually she was "just scrapping it".

Fun Fact: These TVs have about five dollars worth of copper and other such stuff. Learn something new every day!
Do I care that I gave it away? Nope, not at all. :)
