If You Were Given 6 Months to Live...

What would you want to do?

This is what came to my mind.

---Have people over for dinner often.
---Tell all my customers about Jesus.
---Spend a week on the beach with my husband.

After a while I thought of a couple more things,
 including but not limited to:

---Making a quilt for each of my siblings.
---Take a trip to Texas to spend time with my sister.

It got me thinking though. Why should I have to wait until I would be told I only have six months left to live before I would do all that? We could have even less than six months. We aren't given any specific amount of time here on earth.

"Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."   James 4:14

Live like there is no tomorrow. Tell people today who Jesus is and what He's done. Invest your time in what matters and live so that there will be no regrets!

The Week of the Hats

Several different hats seemed to just arrive at the shop a couple weeks ago.

Now you must understand that for some reason the only hats these guys wear are winter hats, so when another hat arrives, it is mostly only worn as a joke. And with all the hats around...

You guessed it: A bunch of laughter.
This is truly the only way that Blake wears a ball cap.

Oh wait. I take that back.
There's this too. How could I forget?

(He's going to love me for putting that picture of him on here! )

Apparently the other guys think the same about hats too.

And the shirts. I almost forgot about them.

See I buy 10lb bags of t-shirts from Goodwill to use as rags. They're cheap and easy. Well the last 80lbs of them happened to be mainly brand new Poker Run t-shirts.

So naturally... They all had to try one on.

Gotta love those good old accessories!

*Written Last Week. Posted Today*

Considering that it is 2:03 a.m. and I'm sitting in the shop, I could totally write a long report on what our life is like at work.

Instead I'm going to tell you about my husband. After all, he's helping a friend put the transmission back in said friend's truck. My husband is tired. He's exhausted. He's worn out. And he's still taking the time for someone else. I love that about him.

He wakes me up in the morning by hugging me and whispering in my ear that I am his favorite.
(I complain that he's not doing everything that needs to be done.)

He empties that dehumidifier just so that I won't have to ask him.
(I roll my eyes when he asks something of me and mumble that he could do it himself. )

He works hard to reach our goals.
(I tell him that I don't always care about what he is working for.)

He listens politely to everything I have to say, even the horrible stuff.
(I think I have to set him straight when he tries to talk to me.)

He cares about me.
(I feel like I care about me more than him entirely too often.)

I want what I want and he can just fit into what I want. This guy chose to be committed to me with his whole life. I just am selfish and want my way. And it doesn't make me or my man happy.

We had an argument a couple weeks ago. We went to sleep not happy mad. I dreamed that the rapture happened and because we were fighting, we got left behind. It was so awful that I went about the next day quite sober.

There is nothing that should come in between my relationship with Jesus Christ. He loved me when I was unlovable. He cared about me when I didn't care a bit about him. (And nothing must come in between my relationship with Him!)

My husband loves me in the same way- an unconditional love that says "She is worth it". And that makes me cry. I love this man. He shouldn't get second best.

By God's grace, I will be learn to be the wife that he deserves.

Kaylee Was Here

We finally got Kaylee to come visit us! Of course, we had a blast. :) That goes without saying!

The sad part is that she had to leave. She is lively and has a fun personality that can brighten up anybody's day.

Most of her time here was spent with her doing geometry and me working. I kept telling her that I felt bad because I'd practically ignored her the whole time, but she insisted that she was thrilled to be able to go visit someone and just completely fit into their life. Plus, she accomplished a good bit of geometry that needed to get done anyway. Since she is a senior this year, she said she really needed to get it done, no matter how dull it is.

She practiced driving our truck with a manual transmission. And she actually got pretty good at it!

She went shopping with Blake's sisters.

She learned what Snap-On is and even got to go on the Snap-On truck, which was pretty cool, she thought. :)

She did geometry. Did I mention that?!

She met a bunch of our regular customers from work.
And a bunch of our friends from there too.

My 78-year-old neighbor was hoping that she's single 'cuz he is too!

We noticed once again how much she and I are alike. It's cool because we're sisters.
And I rather like that fact!
