Inspiration

Comes today in the form of quotes related to success. Have I been feeling very successful lately? Nope :)

In Other News

It's spring in Ohio and I love it!

My husband missed me while I was away. And I missed him so badly! Six days away from him is just not cool.

He also sold our truck while I was gone. It was the one we had at the

point in life and as much as I know it's just a hunk of metal, I did not wish to sell it.

I mean, I loved seeing this truck pull in when we were dating. It was my man driving it!

Somehow I found out that the truck was gone though and I somehow came to the conclusion that it had gotten wrecked. I knew that insurance wouldn't cover it and I was so disappointed that I held onto the thin hope that perhaps he'd just sold it. I was relieved that when I got home and he informed me that he'd sold it. I was even more excited when he told me that he had found another one to buy.

He bought this one on Saturday because, as he told the guy, "his wife needed a truck".

Some guys buy their wives flowers. Mine buys me a truck. He's sweet. :)

The Rest of Texas

It was a unique looking river that I could see from the airplane just before landing in Houston.

One evening we sorted through all the baby clothes that Lanna has. (They probably won't find out whether it's a boy or a girl, but since yellow and green clothes just are not that cute, she has lots of clothes for either a boy or a girl, and in lots of sizes. We separated them and organized them according to size just to see what she had.

Wouldn't a little boy look pretty handsome in this outfit? It's a three month size. :)
Micah studied for his sermon and laughed at us while we chose the very cutest outfits.
The gulf of Mexico is not too far away from them, so Saturday we went to the beach on "The Island", as everyone in "The Valley" calls it. I've been longing to go to the ocean for the past couple years, so I'm pretty sure this was my favorite day in Texas.
After playing in the ocean for a while, we ate a picnic lunch and sat on the beach, enjoying the sunshine.

Maine coasts do not compare to the warmth and the bare sandy beaches that you'll find in the south. Also I've never gotten a sunburn on a Maine beach like I did in Texas!

It's fun to be able to spend time with my sister, whose company I do not get to enjoy very often!
The town there at the island is very much a tourist trap, and apparently on this Pirate's Landing, you can pay and get a touristy ride on this boat, but we kept driving. :)

Lanna is a good cook, and while she did a fair amount of food prep, I just washed dishes. It's lovely to eat some one else's food. It always tastes so much better than food I personally have labored over preparing!

Micah has been learning to repair stringed instruments, and he was busy working on a couple of cellos while I was there.

My husband is the greatest - he not only is lets me go away for a whole six days without him, he also does my job and his job so that I can go!

I'm so glad I got to see this girl :)

One Day of Texas

Almost nine months after Lanna moved far away, I finally took the time to go visit her and her man.

Micah decided that we'd take one day and go to Mexico since Lanna had never been there. Despite all of our passports having some sort of issue (2/3 of us had a name change issue :P) , we tried it. Walking into Mexico is quite simple. Pay $0.50 and walk through the gate. Walking out of Mexico is pretty simple too. Pay $0.30 and walk through the gate. Then they route your path through a building and the guy at the counter looks at your passport, asks what you bought, and says have a nice day.

We enjoyed window shopping for about three blocks into Mexico; I found some earrings, for which I got to barter. They say six dollars and you keep walking but over your shoulder you hear them say five and then say four and you think, "Hmm, I might pay three" so you go back. :)

Although a couple of letters were missing, we still got the point and decided to swing by this place, after we got back into the states, to get some ice cream. Unfortunately they saved us a lot on ice cream- the place was closed. *Sadness*

So instead we went and ate a picnic lunch at a park near their town and watched some little kids run down the hill and fall on their noses, but then get right back up, quite happily!

While Lanna prepared her sandwich, I took "amazing" pictures. :)

When you find a tree this cool and your sister begs you to get a picture in it, you just get your husband to help you climb up into the thing, pregnant or not!
